A mix of experiences drives my support for entrepreneurs

I’ve sat in a glass office tower in central London managing a $150 million revenue business in 30 countries as a Sr. Vice President at NBCUniversal International.

I’ve also sat on a cardboard box in an empty apartment in Budapest writing a business plan for my first startup – one I built and sold in just 18 months.

When I was a kid growing up in the US, I’d spend parts of my summer playing baseball in the park.

Then, I’d travel to Europe with my Hungarian American parents for months, visiting countries my friends had only read about in school.

As a leader, I strived to overachieve targets, pushing myself and my team hard to deliver more.

As a manager, I mentored my colleagues, helping them overcome their self-limiting beliefs and achieve more than what they thought was possible.

So, this is me. A mix of opposites.

A corporate executive and an entrepreneur.

An American with an international perspective.

A ‘fearless’ leader and a mentor manager.

This is what drives my support of entrepreneurs.

And why my purpose is to help them experience the personal satisfaction and rewards of building a successful global business.

The Launch CODE siTS AT THE HEART of my work

I developed The Launch Code based on what I learned in 30 years of working in both corporations and startups.

Corporations are great at planning and careful decision-making, but often miss out on opportunities because they’re too slow in execution.

Startups, on the other hand, execute quickly, but conduct little planning so they’re unclear on what they want to achieve and how.

I’ve experienced first-hand that neither of these approaches works.

A few years ago, I had an ‘aha’ moment.

What if you could add just the right level of planning to a startup while maintaining its dynamic execution focus?

This would create a hybrid approach: the perfect environment to scale your business quickly.

A startup that applied this approach would literally ‘blast off!” like a rocket standing on the launch pad, ready to gather up all the energy and power it needed to lift off into space.

The Launch Code was born.

It now sits at the foundation of my work helping startup founders build successful global businesses.

I’ve experienced BOTH corporate comforts and entrepreneurial uncertainty

I’ve worked in the media & tech industries based in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Budapest, overseeing businesses based in Europe, Asia, Latin America and the US. These last 30 years have given me a global perspective on how to launch and manage businesses across borders.

C-Suite Executive

I was formerly Senior Vice President, Global Ad Sales at NBCUniversal International, and a CEO-Central & Eastern Europe at ProSiebenSat1 Media, managing over a thousand employees and $200 mil in revenues.

Entrepreneur

I’ve launched a dozen international media, leisure, technology, and professional services businesses including eEurope Media, one of the first digital media companies in Central & Eastern Europe.

INVESTOR

I’ve invested in several technology startups, including B2B success stories Brainient and Antavo, and have helped dozens of early-stage companies grow into multinational businesses with new customers and revenues.

My multi-cultural background gives me a unique global perspective

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Hungarian American parents.

I spoke Hungarian at home but lived a typical American kid’s life when I stepped outside our house.

I lived a ‘double life’ and knew it would eventually take me overseas.

I graduated from Cornell University with an honors

degree in history and spent much of my youth traveling throughout Europe.

I’ve lived in Europe for most of my adult life, and now divide my time between London and Budapest, where I live with my wife and teenage daughter.

I like to test my personal limits, so I train and participate in Spartan Race obstacle course races.
